This includes ensuring accurate tax returns and timely tax payments, managing local tax forecasting and projects, and providing guidance on local tax compliance and reporting requirements.
Job Description:
As a Local Tax professional at Band 1 level, you will be responsible for managing all direct and indirect tax matters within a specific country. You will ensure accurate tax returns, timely tax payments, and effective management of tax audits. Additionally, you will handle local tax forecasting and projects, and in some markets, you may be responsible for legal entity stewardship and governance from an accounting perspective.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all direct and indirect tax matters within the assigned country.
- Ensure accurate preparation of tax returns and timely submission to the relevant authorities.
- Facilitate timely tax payments in compliance with local regulations.
- Effectively manage tax audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Conduct local tax forecasting to support financial planning and reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
- Provide guidance on local tax compliance and reporting requirements to internal stakeholders.
Job Qualifications
- Completed at least an undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of local tax legislation, administrative regulations, and external accounting reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of direct and indirect tax principles within the assigned country.
- Experience in managing tax compliance activities, including the preparation of tax returns.
- Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in working with numerical data.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
