"This internship has given me real hands-on Engineering experiences from Day 1. My project involves solving the obsolescence of motors on a machine on production lines, and a line simulation model with the aim of increasing capacity. Both my projects present a significant business need for the company. The projects are open-ended problems with target goals. With brilliant support from my manager, coach and colleagues, I am influencing, advising and leading the direction of the projects. This opportunity at P&G allows me to understand how engineering applies to business environment, likewise develop good business acumen"
Alliance Niyigena, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Student
"From day 1 since joining P&G as an engineering intern, I’ve been aware of the high levels of responsibility and involvement that I have with my projects. My work involves upstream initiatives and designing innovative ways to run new products on our current production lines. During the 2 months that I’ve been here, I have organized production line trials, lead meetings and am already seeing the direct impact of the work that I am doing. I have found that everyone who I’ve been involved with is incredibly supportive and takes interest in my work – It makes it very enjoyable"
Andrew Barr, Mechanical Engineering Student
"One of the best things about P&G is the widespread transfer of knowledge I leveraged when being an intern in the Engineering department. Almost one year later, I decided to come back to P&G as an Automation Engineer and encourage my teams to share new ways to overcome technical challenges in our everyday work. I am very proud of my role in the first stages of the Collaborative Robots project and having brought Machine Emulation closer to my business - I'm very keen on being an enabler of new emerging technologies. Coming from a different continent, I cherish even more the international character of BIC. The mix of so many different people with different backgrounds is so enriching, as we all contribute in our own way to the bigger picture!"
Eduardo Lodeiro - Automation Technology Leader
"Having joined P&G straight out of university I was worried I would get lost in such a big company, but the coaching and support by my colleagues and manager has helped me settle in and gain confidence so quickly. I love the trust they give you, allowing you to lead your projects in your own style and with independence, but knowing there is support if you need it. Plus, I know my input is always valued; the equipment I'm installing now was what I worked on for my internship!”
Lois Pennington, Chemical Engineer Project Manager
