Associate Researcher - Scalp Health - Beauty Discovery & Delivery
Beauty is a global Sector encompassing Hair Care and Skin & Personal Care Categories, with category leadership positions in numerous Brands, product forms, and geographies. Responsibility for next generation, upstream, technology development that leads to new Beauty benefit spaces and material innovations resides with Beauty Discovery & Delivery (BDD). A top consumer challenge within Hair Care is scalp health. Consumers desire for acute/first use innovation that reassures them of relief from dandruff and other scalp issues as well as chronic results that maintain dandruff-free benefits. Consumers find reassurance in H&S, the world's largest shampoo brand, however they also continue to express the desire for products that combine their scalp care needs with hair beauty benefits. BDD partners multi-functionally to identify, develop, and commercialize winning technologies that deliver consumer noticeable delight. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with technologists and clinical scientists and be responsible for the execution of technical methods and consumer studies. The candidate will partner closely with others on the technology team on the translation of insights from this work into models that inform and guide product design for global initiatives. They will be pivotal in building the data to support a body of evidence-based approach to qualify and deliver new scalp health technologies.
Ideal candidates will have a strong background in core biology lab skills including participating in design, leading execution, and summary of techniques typically used in classical hair/skin and cellular/molecular biology. The benefit of Hair Care experience would be preferred, but not required. Technical curiosity and a passion to learn are essential. Through execution and analysis of various bench top and consumer-focused learning plans the individual will enable us to learn using new/emerging research tools. Strong technical operational rigor and organizational skills to aid in managing multiple tasks/projects. Effective Communication (written and oral) of results will be required.
