Experienced IT Project Manager and PPM Solution Manager
Are you an experienced IT professional (5+ years) interested in building a career in IT at Procter & Gamble? Do you have experience with project management and solution management? We have an open IT role within the Finance & Operations part of the Global Business Services (GBS) organization at Procter & Gamble. This organization is responsible for providing capabilities that enable the broader GBS & IT organizations to manage a large portfolio of 170 services and 700+ projects. The capabilities include project portfolio decision making and tracking, service strategies, business planning, financials (budgets, costs, benefits) and resource demand and assignments. We use a software platform called Planview as our PPM platform to enable many of these processes.
Important Job Responsibilities:
Lead projects through all phases, working with IT and Finance business partners, support teams, key users and vendor partners. This includes managing Planview upgrades/new capabilities as well as projects related to other Finance applications.
Be the overall “go-to” IT expert for Planview, combining knowledge of project, program, portfolio, resource and financial management processes, with IT application & integration expertise. Provide leadership on future direction of the platform (Planview roadmap), including understanding/influencing Portfolio and Finance Managers; assessing P&G business requirements and unmet needs; understanding new vendor capabilities and influencing vendor direction. Provide second level support. Accountable for ongoing Planview change processes, assessing change requests and partnering with others to prioritize and implement.
We are looking for someone with a BS/MS in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field with the following skills:
Project Management. Demonstrable experience leading IT projects. Ability to plan and lead all aspects of IT projects: vendor management, planning, requirements gathering, process alignment, design, implementation, testing, launch readiness, cutover and deployment. Coordinating/aligning activities with project team and partners. Leading project board meetings. PMP certification is preferred but not required.
Demonstrated IT Proficiency. Must be able to bridge the technical and business process/user needs. This is crucial to success in the role. This role requires developing deep IT expertise in the Planview application (configured screens, workflows, reporting, integrations, master data, etc.), how it works, relationships with other systems/processes and most importantly how it is being leveraged to enable P&G work processes. Understand how it is being used and best leveraged at other customers. Experience working with Planview, other PPM software, and/or SAP financial applications is preferred, but not required.
Application & Integration – Experience using application management standard methodologies in leading projects and managing existing solutions.
Leadership, Collaboration and Communication. Ability to develop and own the solution roadmap. Ensure that all stakeholders are aligned and actively engaged, across the different service areas and user groups. Influence and manage vendors. Work with, understand, and influence the needs of key user groups.
