Personal Health Care (PHC) is a growing & strategic $2B business with a broad portfolio of products that meet consumers’ healthcare needs in the areas of respiratory health (Vicks, Dayquil, Nyquil), sleep (ZzzQuil), and digestive wellness (Metamucil, Align, Prilosec, Pepto Bismol). The PHC product portfolio is among the most highly regulated in the company and requires compliance against both internal and external standards and expectations to ensure that products can be kept on shelf and to protect our quality promise. Technology encompasses a wide variety of unit operations used in production of dose forms including: liquid syrups, suspensions, tablets, powders, gummies, sprays, rubs, capsules and inhalers. Projects generally include formulation development, process scale up, quality assurance, compliance, material qualification and validation. This person will lead and execute the portfolio of product/process related work primarily for North America, including Canada.


We are looking for someone with a Bachelor or Master's degree in the fields of Chemistry, Engineering or Pharmaceutical science or a related science or relevant work experience (0-5+years). The successful candidate will be responsible for launch of new initiatives and technical support of marketed health care products, including support of drug product processes, modification of existing products/processes to solve for supply, quality, regulatory, and value. Responsibilities include partnering with manufacturing sites and contract manufacturers to set and deliver against masterplan strategies and priorities. Coordination of work with partnering functions in QA, packaging, analytical, regulatory and safety to have an end to end view of quality and compliance needs.

Specific work can include:

  1. Drafting, approval, and execution of experimental and validation protocols.
  2. Evaluation of product/process using trending and statistical tools.
  3. Creation of technical and regulatory documents.

This person is expected to closely collaborate with other team members and insure a seamless transition of projects from development to current business. Knowledge of the process technology as well as understanding consumer needs, claims, legal and regulatory requirements are required to manage specifications and standards. Demonstrated ability to independently lead technical projects by setting specific & stretching plans. In touch to connect the big business picture with realities across the development cycle chain to manage both a portfolio of projects and day to day issues. This role needs an independently motivated individual who can work alone as well as function at a high level in a team environment. High attention to detail and flawless technical thinking and documentation will be key to keeping plans on track and executed with excellence. Previous experience in a related business is desirable. Including experience with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), external quality monograph/compendia requirements and internal qualification work process/systems related to compendia (USP, EP) and regulatory agencies (FDA, Health Canada, other Boards of Health) requirements.
