PhD Life Scientist
We are seeking a thoughtful and hardworking PhD scientist to join our up-stream, Corporate R&D innovation organization, the Life Sciences Transformative Platform Technology group. Successful candidates will have the desire and experience to help us harness, control, or inhibit the microbes within us, on us and around us to develop new consumer-focused and business-driven breakthrough technologies and products. This may translate into new innovations in hygiene, delivery of novel personal care benefits, or disruptive breakthroughs in health and wellness. This is a project leadership role with opportunity for career advancement within either the technical or managerial track, and requires ability to independently lead projects, set technical strategy and direction and mentor and develop other researchers and scientists within the organization. The role additionally requires excellent laboratory skills, diligent time management, an ability to quickly learn, adapt, and modify research focus to meet changing business needs. Those candidates with a pragmatic understanding of what’s needed in the present, as well as creative passion for what’s possible in the future will find the opportunities of working in our organization most fulfilling.
Requirements (skills / experiences) for the role:
Successful candidates for this position will have a PhD in Microbiology, Microbial Ecology or Synthetic Biology and previously demonstrated laboratory experience in one or more of the following scientific fields: microbiology; biochemistry; molecular biology; synthetic biology; chemical and biological engineering; or related education and experience. Most importantly, candidates will have a proven desire to embrace challenging problems and a track record of applying strong technical rigor to develop potential transformative solutions.
