Description

Are you passionate about solving tough challenges? Would you like to use analytical skills to find creative solutions for consumer's everyday problems? If this sounds like fun, we would love for you to join our R&D organization!

We have an opening for a PhD Scientist in our Fabric and Home Care (F&HC) team fo Strategic Innovation & Technology!

In this space, you will develop technical and mechanistic understanding at the foundation of key consumer needs, and then use this knowledge to develop new technologies, molecules, and formulations to deliver irresistible superiority to consumers via P&G products. You will invent new technologies with the potential to deliver specific benefits when formulated into Fabric Care products. Characterizing, evaluating, and assessing these products for the target benefit, as well as deep technical understanding of the consumer product formulations with a variety of different ingredients and how they may work with one another, is necessary. A deep understanding of organic/inorganic and polymer chemistry/science will be advantageous. You will evaluate promising materials for in-use performance in consumer goods under a variety of conditions to aid development of structure/property/performance relationships that in turn will inform the design of new materials.


Qualifications

We believe you will be an excellent fit if, you have:
  • A PhD in a Chemistry field: Organic, Inorganic, Organometallic, Polymer/Materials, Physical, Bioinorganic, etc.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and technical skills (including Microsoft Office, ChemDraw)
  • Knowledge of and experience with typical chemical transformations to understand and predict interactions of the new materials with the formula ingredients
  • Ability to characterize new molecules and assess their performance in Fabric Care formulations and products
  • Familiarity with searching the chemical literature (STN, SciFinder) to streamline technical approaches
  • Ability to communicate results both written and verbally.
