P&G Professional - Senior Field Service Technician - Edmonton, AB
Procter and Gamble Professional (PGP) is an exciting, growing and highly entrepreneurial business focused on improving the lives of our consumers when they are away from home. The Technical Services Organization (TSO) is charged with the installation, maintenance, and customer service / technical support of those systems.
Within TSO, the Field Service Technical Specialist is responsible for the installation and proper execution of our On-Premise Laundry (OPL), Mechanical Ware Wash (MWW), and Daily Cleaner Equipment. The Field Service Technical Specialist is also responsible for service standards and associated compliance measures. The role’s key objective is focused on installation and servicing the dispensing equipment. This job is field-based and works collaboratively with the TSO Service Operations Manager for Canada, and Field Sales.
Additionally, this work must be done in a way that supports year on year P&G Professional volume and profit results, improved customer retention and compliance, and delivers superior customer service.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Install OPL equipment on all types of currently
available professional laundry equipment, install flush manifolds and install
Housekeeping dispensers for P&G in room cleaners
b) Ensure all Daily Cleaning and Mechanical Ware
Wash chemical dispensing equipment is installed according to the latest safety
regulations and safe practice requirement, ensure installations are done in
line with P&G’s required specifications
c) Independently program or reprogram modern
machines equipped with a microprocessor, ability to program older card operated
machines according to the end users requirements
d) Understand the chemistry involved in the washing
process and the interaction of the different chemical / physical parameters
that influence the end-result
e) Maintain technical “know how” and continue to
build skills on new technical developments
f) Provide ongoing service for installed equipment
to include preventive maintenance and reactive service calls
g) Train end-user customer employees on PGP
products, programs, procedures and equipment functionality
h) Provide necessary materials to the end user such
as wall charts, product information and SDS sheets
i) Proficient using a handheld to access laundry
data websites, submit completed Site Surveys and complete preventative
maintenance reports
j) Proactively schedule customer service visits via
coverage plan based upon business need.
k) Manage the customer relationship where and when
needed
l) Contribute to growing the business by working
alongside the Field Sales team to help drive new business and grow sales with
current customers.
m) Must be flexible to meet emergency needs based on
customer requests, surge work, and new customer rollouts. Work should be
planned in advance to maximize time and routing to minimize repeat trips in the
same areas.
Qualifications
a) Excellent communication skills, both verbal and
written, in English is a must. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively
with others, both internal and external to PGP, at varying role levels (i.e.
peers, customer and/or P&G management)
b) Technical expertise / aptitude to complete
mechanical tasks, hands-on issue diagnosis with PGP equipment, products and
procedures
c) Demonstrated problem solving and leadership skills,
with the ability to influence others
d) Proficient in PGP laptop and handheld computer
skills to include but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM tools
e) Manage, work and be able to adapt quickly to a
varying schedule based upon business needs
f) Valid driver’s license with vision correction to
minimally 20/40.
g) Perform equipment installation work that includes
using a cordless drill and other small tools [work areas could include commercial
laundry washroom and mop sink areas, and may include cold/hot and/or wet
conditions. This also could include working in tight spaces and exposure to
dust and dirt, and may require frequent bending at the waist and squatting
h) Perform mechanical tasks to adjust equipment and/or
instruct unit personnel on how to adjust equipment
i) Willing to travel (could be up to 25% of time with
or without advanced planning) and stay overnight (less than 10%) if necessary.
This role is field-based, and we are looking for candidates who live in or near Edmonton, AB. Travel
throughout your territory is/will be required.
j) Properly use a PGP-issued laptop and all other
technology required to deliver the business
In
order to effectively perform the job duties described above, all applicants
should reside in and have a detailed knowledge of the territory, as relocation
is not a paid expense.
Please
note this will be afull-time contract position.At
the end of the 12-month contract, based on performance, fit, and Company need,
P&G may consider making the contract position permanent.
