Manufacturing IT Manager / Architect - Graduate Entry (m/f/d)

Apply Now

From its foundation 185 years ago as a soap and candle start-up, P&G today is a leading consumer goods company. We are home to iconic, trusted brands that touch 5 billion consumers worldwide and make life a little bit easier in small but meaningful ways.

We want you to bring your insight, creativity, and passion to join our dedicated teams who have helped us grow into a global company.

Our people are our greatest asset: with our philosophy of promotion from within, we place strong emphasis on employee development and are committed to finding and fostering world-class talent. Learn from our inspiring leaders, shape our supportive and welcoming culture, and place your personal development at the core of your work!

YOUR ROLE as Manufacturing IT Manager / Architect:

You like computers, fast moving machines, and always wanted to know how your “trivial” everyday consumable products are made?

We are looking for a new team member in the Baby Care Central Engineering team!

Your playground is the managed Baby Care OT platform focusing on computer-based functions for production machines and globally present in all Baby Care locations.

The platform includes the management of applications, a portion of the plant distribution networks, and the compute stack in most locations.

As we are a small team with global reach, your role can be quite dynamic and will present opportunities to develop and exercise a broad variety of technical and managerial skills including change management, project management, IT- and electrical engineering technical skills, and operational and service management aspects of a global platform in cooperation with the global support team.

In the wider context, there will also be exposure to other business units cooperating with Baby Care and global IT/OT-oriented teams both in BUs and corporate.

Due to the nature of the job at the intersection of "traditional" electrical engineering and "traditional" IT you are welcome with either background! This job is in the new class of Industry 4.0 and is tearing down walls between the disciplines.

The preferred location is Euskirchen.

As this is a global role, good communication skills and mastery of English language is a must.

You must be curious to explore - as many of the things we do are firsts or challenge the old status quo. We routinely combine systems that weren't talking before, so finding the communication path and -language is often required.

Self-sufficient learning and strong external focus is expected of you but a technical discussion amongst geeks is always appreciated and coaching on new topics will be provided as much as possible.

In order to manage your workload, vendor management for contract development or execution will be part of your job profile.

Principle-based thinking is required in order to solve the maximum number of problems with the minimum number of rules - software release management or access management for example.

The following list is not to be understood as a must-have checklist. The more previous knowledge exists, the better; you will add initially missing knowledge over time.

IT knowledge

You have a solid understanding and/or practical experience of how common IT concepts work. Examples:

  • Server and IPC hardware

  • (Enterprise) storage concepts and filesystems including snapshots and backup

  • VMWare virtualization

  • Networking (mostly L2)

  • Windows server

  • Linux

  • FTP and SMB filesharing

  • Web services

  • Database technology

  • Monitoring technology – PRTG, Lansweeper

Electrical engineering knowledge

Your team is focused on our managed applications but our ecosystem has many outer interfaces up- and downstream. Working knowledge will be required for:

  • Machine automation – mostly (but not exclusively) Rockwell automation

  • Process understanding of machinery

  • Automation networking in Ethernet and traditional bus systems (limited requirement)

  • Machine vision

  • OPC

(BabyCare-) Product Lifecycle Management (PLCM)

You will work within the context of BabyCare equipment and product platforms and will learn our take on lifecycle management. This includes knowledge in:

  • Specific change management workflows

  • Project management

  • ITIL

  • Software change management

  • Reliability engineering

  • Fleet management tools like BigFix and Puppet

  • Exciting work and responsibility from Day 1.

  • A permanent employment contract with a competitive salary, yearly performance-based compensation reviews, and a wide range of social benefits (e.g., flexible work environment, company pension plan, Christmas and vacation bonus, stock purchasing programs, campus services such as fitness center, dry cleaning, etc.).

  • A customized personal development plan including relevant coaching, mentorship, training-on-the-job, and a large portfolio of individual upskilling opportunities (e.g., functional Brand Management Colleges, P&G Leadership Academy, multi-day courses on brand building frameworks, digital media, effective business writing, and many more).

  • Diverse career perspectives with new job assignments every 2-3 years to gain experience in different areas of Brand Management and with the opportunity to work in our Geneva HQ.

  • Multi-functional teams of passionate and inspiring people with flat hierarchies.

  • A vibrant international spirit with interactions on a regional/global level.

  • A dynamic and respectful environment – employees are at the core, we value every individual and support initiatives, promoting agility and life balance.

  • Opportunity to engage in our various employee programs (e.g., National Diversity Team & New Hire Network activities, inspirational Leadership sessions with in- & external speakers, sports groups for running & football).

To optimally prepare for our online assessment & interviews, make sure you fully understand our application process.

Please ensure you provide:

  • CV as a separate document

  • Cover letter for the specific role you are applying for

  • Copy of high school certificate (Abitur) as well as a copy of Bachelor and Master (if applicable) diploma and transcript

  • Copy of relevant work, internship and volunteering certificates or reference letters
