Associate Scientist - Beauty Sector GrowthWorks West

The vision of Beauty GrowthWork team is to accelerate value creation from disruptive innovation via a coordinated Beauty Sector-wide effort that unlocks the power of our resources, capabilities and insights! We will achieve this by exploring new opportunity areas and Jobs-To-Be-Done by focusing on crystallizing consumer pain points and defining LOFAs (Leap of Faith Assumptions) to learn quickly against possible solutions to address these pain points by testing MVPs (Minimum Viable Prototypes) to further refine propositions, create new business models and/or create new brands.
The specific job will involve working on Innovative Solutions to address Sustainability needs, specifically for "Water Conscious" area (saving water in consumer in-use steps through innovation) and "Package Sustainability" (looking at disrupting future packaging for Beauty products via new business models).
The person in this role will define and execute experiments and learning plans to address complex consumer needs and insights, in support of delivering holistic irresistible superior propositions. Responsible for the creation of research proposal, executing the study preparation and placement, as well as conducting thorough analysis, documenting and communicating learnings to provide clear direction for project/ program.
We are looking for someone with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any core Sciences or Engineering field. Having a Minor in Environment Sciences would be preferred.
Mid-career hire who has worked on Sustainability programs will also be considered. Any experience of working for a Start-up will be highly preferred.
1. Personal drive to work on area of Sustainability to drive P&G to new business models for the Beauty business. Versatile and flexible to flow across various roles is an important consideration for Growthworks.
2. Technical, consumer and digital curiosity mindset. A good knowledge of Science fields will be preferred.
3. Ability to work independently and be flexible to be function agnostic – which is one of the key skill sets required in GrowthWorks. The ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, ability to summarize and represent technical and consumer work clearly so that decisions can be made on next Steps.
4. Responsible to work on several key LOFAs (Leap of Faith Assumptions) in the area of Responsible Beauty for the Beauty Sector. Need to develop and execute the learning plan with excellence.
5. Keen interest to learn cutting-edge new digital tools will also be important mindset for those who apply. Will need to gain familiarity with P&G Digital Systems.
