Site Automation Engineer
The Site Automation Engineer blends technical capability and dynamic team leadership while handling new and emerging technologies across P&G's CRN (Customer Response Network) Sites. This is a mix of managing people and technological projects.
Responsible for the coordination and execution of specific project activities, varying from a portfolio of smaller projects (typically 4-5) to full ownership of a larger scale project. Applies technical leadership skills to deliver successful Capital projects with benchmark capital cost, schedules, and high quality products which meet their defined success criteria.
Specifically, the Automation Engineers evaluate Facility and Operation needs to integrate multiple types of automation technologies by serving as a bridge between the Automation Vendor and their home site. They lead discussions to ensure readiness to receive the new technology, lead IQOQ (Installation Qualification / Operations Qualification), and Continuous Improvement via LFE's (Learn From Experience). This role requires looking at the automation platforms and work processes associated with projects with the intent of making actionable improvements.
Technical aspects aside, individuals demonstrate business acumen as they lead a variety of discussions across multiple organizations (Vendor, P&G Platform & Operations) to drive rigorous schedule management, technical resolution/standardization, and improvement for future reapplications.
- Bachelors or Masters of Engineering Degree
- Demonstrated Leadership Capabilities
- 5 to 10 years of experience in automation engineering / project engineering field(s)
- Have Project Management experience
- Experience from Manufacturing and / or Warehouse industries is a plus
- Digitization, robotics, and / or engineering automation experience
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of manipulating multiple data sources
- Significant experience with 3rd party vendors, serving as technical liaison,
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Ability to work in a deadline driven environment
