Data Asset Manager & Engineer - Sustainability (ESG)
As a IT Data Asset Manager and Engineer you will be leading one of the new, core corporate pillar of ESG data – passionate about creating the biggest business impact via providing the right data. You will be required to create, build and manage data systems in a holistic way. It will require learning agility, innovation, creativity to learn, influence, design together ESG approaches for FMCG industry. Your focus will be defined the data scope, metrics, strategy, standards, assess fit for use, model and integrate data, ensure right quality, manage security, etc. Data is managed in P&G on a state-of-the-art cloud-based architecture, data management tools (visualizations, analytics, ETL/storing, modeling) and processes (agile, operations).
Key responsibilities
Scope & sufficiency: Assess the data scope & sufficiency in terms of granularity, measures, timeliness, completeness, availability, accuracy as well as readiness to be used across the different ESG use cases, reports, audits, reports or AI solutions.
Quality: End-to-end ownership of the data quality across the full data life cycle – starting from data collection, thru data processing, integration up to data activation.
Harmonization: Collaborate with Development teams in charge of ETL process in order to secure the highest quality of data as well as define the data transformation/ harmonization logic to be in line with corporate master data
Security & governance: Establish accurate access management, archival, retention, privacy policies, per government regulations and P&G policies.
Standards: Establish data metrics, measures and standards. Maintain data dictionary and data catalog.
Master data: Managing the master data (maintenance of attributes / definition, managing the mapping rules, enable effective integration)
Leads data governance based on data strategy for selected areas of accountability. Acts as a trusted data advisor for business. Influences strategy, continuously improving data governance. Governs data in all or selected areas of data management: quality, operations, storage, reference and master data, data standards, security, vendor governance, metadata. Responsibilities include governing data changes per stewardship rules, such as data standards, security, quality, driving stewardship rule improvements, analyzing data, providing data quality insights (e.g. coverage, panel stability), providing training, developing training materials, providing interpretation consultancy, acting as an SME, serving as the escalation point for 3rd level for incidents, driving purchase plan process, advising business on the best data ROI, managing data provider payments, forecasting/tracking data and IT cost spends, leading vendor selection & qualification, developing and reinforcing data security rules and guidelines, defining and updating metadata.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related technical field
4+ years of experience with Data Engineering, Product Management, Data Stewards/Governor or Business Analytics
Leadership skills in terms of ability to influence internally and externally and build a win-win partnership
Business Analysis: understand business decisions and value expected from the data
Data Stewardship and Governance, specifically with regards to Data Quality
Foundation in IT systems development, integration and knowledge of how data architecture fits in the overall life cycle and architecture patterns
Strong communication skills
Nice to have
Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) and particularly packaging and packaging sustainability domain and data expertise
Being hands on with SQL/Python, analytics and visualization tools (Power BI)
General data management qualifications: DAMA, TOGAF certification
