Location: Warsaw

We see Data Wranglers and Data Engineers at Procter&Gamble as:

technical masters - you are self-motivated, effective technologist, familiar with databases (relational, big data, cloud frameworks), BI tools, data mining, modeling, and provisioning

skilled and dedicated - you are able to onboard complex data and develop models to fuel the analytics, driven by data scientists to improve P&G’s business results

great collaborators - your teamwork skills are key to thrive in the area, you work across teams and geographies and handle multiple priorities


We offer two distinct Data and Analytics roles:

Data Wrangler - you deliver data acquisition, transformations, cleansing, conversion, compression, and loading. You partner with data science and analysts to understand use cases, data needs, and outcome objectives. As a partner, you have both project work and ad hoc requests that require agility and often fast paced response to enable the business to run successfully.



Qualifications

Technical capabilities required:

you understand and can work with multiple data formats, sources, protocols

you work with Hive and Impala for optimizing data retrieval and Oozie for scheduled workflows

you know your ways around shell scripting, SQL, databases in general and can produce technical design documents


DataEngineer- you practice advanced data modeling and optimization at scale. You excel in managing data coming from various sources, are good at programming (Python, Shell scripting, Java, and SQL). You are advanced in data base modeling, familiar with analytic algorithms and applications (like machine learning). We see you as a leader in P&G data capability building. The role has a potential to expand into DevOps and solution management, focused on automation and scale up of solutions.


Technical capabilities required:

you are comfortable and proficient “getting your hands dirty” using multiple data types and various data models to enable a range of analytic solutions

you are adept at exploiting technologies to manage and manipulate data, scaling data models and solutions to support the analytics for business insights.

you have working knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java and R and package/build tools such as Scala sbt, Apache Maven or Ant

you can demonstrate skills or are familiar with big data technologies (Hive, Impala) and NoSQL databases


Formal Qualifications:

We are looking for you if you have graduated with a BS, Engineer, or MS in one of the following: Business Information Systems, Computer Science / Engineering, Programming, Software Development, Operations Research, Statistics and you fulfill the requirements above for a Data Wrangler or Data Engineer role.
