The Opportunity

Are you passionate about IT quality?  Are you a strategic thinker who wants to help drive new product development faster?  As an IT Quality Manager on our P&G Seamless Technical Community Analytics (STCA) team in Cincinnati, OH, you will use your attention to detail and problem-solving skills to help establish and maintain a testing strategy for the data pipelines used by the P&G Research & Development, QA, and Manufacturing communities.  This strategy will be critical to ensuring those communities continue to design and build products that win with consumers and deliver sustainable results for our Company.

As the STCA Quality Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the products implemented by our team using Agile SCRUM methodologies fulfill and exceed the business requirements and implementing and ensuring ongoing quality throughout our system.
  • Driving best practices for testing ELT/ETL work items through the development cycle and understanding how to automate regression testing to ensure quality persists through future iterations.
  • Demonstrating excellent troubleshooting and technical skills (SparkSQL, T-SQL, Python) as well as be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards.

The Ideal candidate:

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of best practices for testing ELT/ETL work items through the development cycle and understand how to automate regression testing to ensure quality persists through future iterations. A successful quality engineer should have excellent troubleshooting and technical skills as well as be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards. Lastly, we are looking for a passionate engineer who is not afraid to ask questions.


Qualifications

Technical Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and own the test strategy for all products, including those in development and those already launched in production
  • Ensure that every feature being worked on and deployed goes through proper testing protocol
  • Help to facilitate UAT with the business as features are completed
  • Identify end to end test cases for work items while working closely with the developers, business, and product owners
  • Implement an automated testing framework for regression testing
  • Identify and incorporate Regression test cases as they apply to existing or new pipelines
  • Monitor Regression tests for the data pipelines owned by our team to ensure Quality and SLA uptime
  • Assist with analysis into both production and development issues/test failures
  • Instill confidence in our users by helping to expand data quality coverage and visibility

Technical Skills

  • High proficiency in SQL (SparkSQL, T-SQL, etc)
  • Know how to properly leverage window functions and performance tune a query
  • Able to do SQL analysis efficiently
  • Experience with python
  • Experience with test automation framework (ex. Great Expectation or similar)
  • Experience or high-level understanding of Spark is preferred, but not required
  • Experience using Databricks is preferred, but not required
  • Experience working with Microsoft Azure Cloud resources is preferred
  • Ability to comprehend and use an ERD
  • Experience with Azure DevOps Boards preferred (or JIRA boards)
  • Experience with Service Now is a plus
  • Ability to convert high-level acceptance criteria into technical tests, usually in some form of a SQL query or python

Soft Skills

  • Experience working in an Agile environment (SCRUM preferred but not required)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Attention to detail

Technical Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in software Quality Engineering, Quality Analyst, or a similar role.
  • Experience coding using SQL/Python as well as QA automation tools and processes.
