Pedro Montilva

I started living P&G one year ago. Yes, I said living, because for me is a new life, an amazing life in a big family. My on-boarding was quite different as usual. I was sent to the fire just after the first month, what for a fire!!!. It was one of the tough projects in Baby Care history. We were really tight in schedule and we had some problems to solve. The project got me travelling back and forth for three months. At the end, we were successful and we could launch the new premium diaper…When I look back and I can say, yes we made it!

Before my procter life, I was doing my Ph.D in renewable energy. In P&G I am not anymore Herr Dr. D’Jesús, I am Pedro! I was chemical engineering, now I am a diaper engineer. P&G gave me the opportunity to learn. From the first day, P&G trusted in my capabilities and gave me responsibilities. Now after one year and a lot of trainings, I feel that I can contribute to the business; I love to feel valued and I am having a lot of fun.

I work in Global Diapers Process& Engineering. We are a global team base in Euskirchen and Cincinnati. In our team we drive everyday our Genius behind Technology and Passion behind Cost. We work hard, but we have fun in our work. That is something that I saw from the beginning; that is the reason why I joined P&G. In every member that I have talked to, there is a feeling of ownership; there is passion for winning. Our leaders have the time to guide us. We are a big family, and we take care of our family members.

The best thing of my work is that there are a lot of challenges. We are still to slow in our projects. We need to drive our cost down. We have to drive innovation to meet our consumer needs. Remember, Consumer is the boss!
