Koen Bremen - IDS Intern
Internship duration: 6 months
Location: France
Why did you join a P&G internship?Six months before my internship I took part in the IDS Challenge, a 7-day seminar with students and P&G'ers from all over Europe. During this amazing experience I got a look into the fast moving world of IDS and decided this was the place where I wanted to do my internship. Furthermore, being fascinated by the world of decision making, P&G was the right company to go to.
What project did you handle during your internship?I am responsible for the assessment and deployment of Visual Analytics, a visual methodology to improve decision making through better insights into business data, for P&G Pharmaceuticals Western Europe. The business is today worth >500 million dollars, my work will optimise our salesforce to further accelerate this.
How do you feel about working at P&G?One of the things I really appreciate is that, even as an intern, you are fully responsible for your end-results; you own the project (or a part of it, if you work in a team) and are seen as the expert in this area. This gives you the opportunity to be creative in your approach and really have an impact on the business with your work.
Another fact that speaks for working at P&G is the truly international environment you are in. Through the internship I had the opportunity to live in Paris, France for six months and connect with many P&G'ers all over the world.
Do you have a piece of advice for the next interns? An internship is the ideal way to find out whether P&G fits to your future career goals. Therefore, be open minded, look around, talk to as many people as possible, but keep a critical view of what you hear and see!
