TalentBrew uses the LinkedIn application to extract job relevant information from a user’s LinkedIn profile (name, email, city, experience, education, skills & endorsements, recommendations, accomplishments and interests). We use that information to run an automated keyword-based comparison against P&G’s job descriptions and then present our available roles sorted by order of relevancy to your qualifications. I still vividly remember the day I walked into P&G’s offices in Rome as a fresh graduate for my interview, a bundle of nerves and excitement. I had interviewed for several graduate jobs already, but this was the one I wanted. I knew P&G’s international pedigree and reputation for leadership development.

Reflecting now, I was given a sneak peak of the company’s leadership prowess that day. My hosts were two young associate brand managers: Gianni Ciserani (now Global Group President of P&G’s largest businesses – Baby Care, Fabric & Home Care) and Daniela Riccardi (now CEO of Baccarat), and my final interview was with then Italy Marketing Director, Antonio Belloni (now Group Managing Director of LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy). Three business giants and perfect examples for any young leader to follow.

Now, as Vice President of Human Resources for P&G Europe, it is exciting for me to see the next generation of young talent stepping into our offices for the first time for their big moment. The world of business and our company has transformed beyond recognition since my interview, but this fundamentally human moment between you and our recruitment team is essentially unchanged. It is a mutual assessment: Are we the right place for you? Can we help you achieve your ambition? Are you the right person for us? Can we use your skills and talent and passion to drive our business and company forward?

When I meet with students on Campus or connect on Linkedin, the question I get asked more than any other is: ‘How do I nail my interview with P&G?’

I always say that some part of this is luck – I certainly know I was lucky. But a lot more is down to preparation. You can set yourself up for success. Here are my top 10 tips to help you blow us away when we get to meet you.

  1. Get Comfy with the Role
    Hiring the best possible talent for our teams is a strategic priority for P&G. Our leaders take great care in tailoring job postings to fit their specific needs, and to attract a diverse group of qualified applicants. Spend time getting to know the job posting in detail, focusing on both the broad scope of responsibilities, as well as the bulleted details.
  2. Do Your Research
    P&G is a multi-faceted, global organization with 95,000 employees across the world. Each individual plays an extremely important role, but our job postings can only hold so much information.   3. Tailor Your Approach
    Every one of our colleagues brings something unique and special to P&G. Let your personal brand shine by highlighting experience that most closely fits the role you are targeting. Use pointed examples on your resume, including metrics and accomplishments that clearly demonstrate your expertise and intended career trajectory.
  4. Gather Supporting Materials
    You are more than your list of bulleted accomplishments, and P&G is a place that encourages you to bring your whole personality to work each day. Think about online portfolios, successful product launches, or community-efforts that speak to your drive to succeed, both in and outside of work. Put together a concise package of samples that capture your specific contributions, and get ready to share your work with the interview team.
