Reading Innovation Centre is offering a 12-month Post-doctoral placement (Toxicology) starting on 4th July 2022.

IN THIS ROLE CANDIDATES WILL:

  • Act as the primary owner of a brand or category of products in Personal Health Care, accountable for the category product knowledge including key safety issues and regulatory constraints, covering oral and topical exposure.

  • Co-partner with a multifunctional team to develop safety assessments of the actives and all raw materials (including botanical/natural substances) used in P&G’s Personal Health Care portfolio. This will involve review of complex data sets including pre-clinical and clinical safety data to develop safety assessment judgement; assessment of potential for drug/drug and drug/herb interactions and potential for adverse events in a population; development of label input and assessment of packaging.

  • Interact with Boards of Health from various countries to resolve queries from external regulatory experts on our PHC products requests. Also develop safety related information for consumers and medical professionals who contact P&G on our major brands in Personal Health Care.

As a full member of the team, you will have ownership for your projects, leading the development of the models and the design of the experiments required to provide data into the models. You will have the opportunity to present your work to Senior Management and work within professional and entrepreneurial cross-functional teams in one of the company's major business categories. Corporate and specific job trainings will be provided to accelerate your development. You will be given increased levels of responsibility based on your proven capability to produce outstanding results.

Qualifications

Qualifications (skills/experiences) for the role:

  • A PhD in Toxicology or related life science. Applicants must have some academic knowledge of the effects of drugs, chemicals, biological materials, etc. on biological pathways. 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to enable effective collaboration.

  • A passion to grow personal capability and technical mastery. Desire to learn and develop a deep knowledge of toxicological risk assessment. Interest in sharing knowledge with others both locally and globally and continually seeking innovative ways to capture learning through system and work process improvements
