Spyglass Technical Lead
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Technical Leader in Observability Space to join our Intelligent Operations team of Procter & Gamble in Warsaw. This person will work as part of a well-established team that will include software engineers, support officers, project managers and a product owner to develop and maintain Procter & Gamble's internal observability platform, which will provide critical insights into the performance and health of applications and infrastructure at enterprise scale.
The Technical Leader will be responsible for guiding the team in developing and implementing observability best practices, as well as working closely with other teams to ensure that observability is integrated throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
Additionally, the Technical Lead will play a key role in staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in observability, and will leverage this knowledge to continually improve our systems and processes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Leading a team of software engineers in the development and maintenance of internal observability platform
- Collection and defining observability requirements, participation in architectural design of internal observability platform and its components
- Guiding the team in implementing observability best practices
- Collaborating and advising other teams to ensure observability is integrated throughout the software development lifecycle and across various technology platforms
- Driving continuous improvement of observability platform, related systems and processes
- Developing and implementing metrics and reporting frameworks to measure the performance and effectiveness of the observability platform
- Continuous monitoring and improvement of the observability platform to ensure that it remains effective and meets the evolving needs of Procter & Gamble
- Communicating the value and importance of observability to stakeholders
- Mentoring and coaching team members to promote professional development and growth
- Participating in cross-functional teams and initiatives to drive alignment and collaboration across the organization.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor/Master’s degree in one of the following fields: statistics, mathematics, computer science, data science, information technology
- Ability to lead a team of engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish and achieve observability goals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences ability to work as a team member, good communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for learning and staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the observability space.
Nice to Have:
- Understanding of monitoring and observability concepts and technologies
- Understanding of functional design principles, object-oriented programming principles, basic algorithms
- Experience with root cause analysis, debugging, and troubleshooting in complex distributed systems
- Understanding of both traditional (waterfall) and agile approach in software development process
